Although the thunder of high-stepping hoof beats and the rap and rattle of a hind leg just brushing the rail of an impossibly high jump were only just a week away, the sounds of tinkling silverware, the brush of fine linen against skin and applause were all that were heard.  The first ever “What to Wear at an Equestrian Affair” luncheon and fashion show, sponsored by Land Rover Houston Central and The Houston Polo Club, was held on Wednesday, February 29 at the elegant Wynden in Houston.

The fashion presentation and luncheon, hosted by Masraff’s, featured appropriate wear for enjoying The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show in style.  Tootsies provided an amazing collection from their American and European Designer collections.

Megan Ellis Cherry, Miss Texas 2007

All of the models were “real people,” either riders or people involved with Pin Oak’s charities.  They showed off the most comfortable and fashionable  wear for going to the Sponsors’ Club, the Championship Gala, the $25,000 International Hunter Derby (presented by Valobra Jewelry & Antiques), the Haras Dos Cavaleiros Working Equitation event, the YPOC Polo Mixer, and the Grand Prix Garden Party.  Of course, the fashions modeled were also the best for just watching the show.

A tremendous success and a whole lot of fun, watch for the “What to Wear” luncheon and fashion show to be repeated next year.

Many thanks to Cindy Gracely and Cynergy WorksStaging Solutions, Terrazas de los Andes, ImageSet, and Nothing Bundt Cakes for their support.
